Medicare Season

Hello Health Insurance buyers!

In my (Joe Clark) book “Common Sense Retirement” I have reduced the complications of health insurance to 3 choices. My hope is that I can make it understandable so that you don’t make a serious mistake like buying health insurance that does not provide full prescription protection and unlimited ambulance service. Either of these, if limited, could bankrupt you.

Medicare choices are another area where people really get mislead and taken advantage of. Once again I break it into 3 choices to make it more understandable.

The best choice (in my opinion) is Medicare Supplement Plan F or Plan J if you can afford the premium. The coverage is mandated by law and so is the same company to company but the premiums vary a lot. You also need a Plan D (Rx) to go with this.

If you are healthy and/or do not travel a lot a Medicare Advantage Plan with zero premium and an annual maximum out-of-pocket limit is a great choice.

There are a lot of ways to really screw up your Medicare choice so either get my book or go to www.medicare.gov and do your due diligence. My book makes researching their site a lot easier.
